What’s included in Holiday Lodge Legal Costs Expenses
Legal costs incurred by the insurer’s approved panel of solicitors up to £50,000 to pursue:
- Defective goods or services provided to your Holiday Lodge
- Compensation following an accident for death or injury
- An Employment Tribunal
- Nuisance or trespass to your Holiday Lodge property
- Disputes with the park owner where your Holiday Lodge is situated
- Compensation against someone who damages your Holiday Lodge
- A probate dispute
- Defence of a breach of contract against you for goods sold privately that relate to your Holiday Lodge.
- Liaison with credit reference agencies if you are a victim of identity theft
- Writing a letter to a social media website to request removal of a defamatory comment about you.
Significant Exclusions
As with all policies of this type there are some things which are not covered. These are the limitations and exclusions that we think are significant. Full details or all limitations and exclusions can be found in the relevant cover section of the policy wording.
You are not covered under Holiday Lodge Legal Expenses for:
- Claims or proceedings that arise outside of the UK, IOM or Channel Islands
- Costs for claims incurred without the insurers prior consent
- Claims that arise between you and someone you live with or have lived with
- Claims where to insurer deems there is no prospect of success
- Costs for legal representation from outside of the insurers approved solicitors list
- Claims below £250 (plus vat) brought against you or pursued for you for Defective Goods Claims
- Claims for stress, psychological or emotional injury unless linked to a physical injury are excluded for injury claims
- Any Employment Tribunal or action against a park owner brought within the first 90 days of the policy
- Trespass or nuisance arising from divorce or matrimonial matters.
- Financial compensation for physical damage in respect of a contract that you have entered into
- Defamatory claims on social media if you are under 18 years of age.
Home Emergency Cover for Holiday Lodge Owners
The home emergency policy that we provide for holiday lodge owners, will provide assistance to you in your holiday lodge. You’ll receive expert help if you suffer an emergency arising from an incident covered under this policy and send a contractor out who will take action to resolve the emergency. The home emergency insurance policy is designed to work alongside your household buildings or contents insurance policy.

Plumbing & Drainage
Leaks caused by the unexpected failure of the drainage system or internal plumbing (including central heating pipes).
Roofing
Emergency repairs following missing, broken or loose tiles causing internal water damage.
Internal Electricity
Covers your internal electrics supplying power to your home following electrical failure of at least one complete circuit.
Boiler Replacement Contribution
Contribution of up to £500 towards the cost of a brand-new like for like replacement upon production of an original receipt for payment.
Primary Heating System
Cover for the complete breakdown of the central heating system which results in the loss of heating and/or hot water.
Alternative Heating
We shall pay up to £50 towards the cost of alternative heating sources where these are deemed necessary in the event a claim has occurred.
Pest Infestation
Cover for the removal of certain types of pest infestation (such as a wasp or hornet nest, mice, rats or cockroaches) from the home.
Overnight Accommodation
Overnight accommodation only where it has not been possible to resolve the emergency following an accepted claim for emergency repairs by a contractor under another section of the policy and the home is rendered uninhabitable in the opinion of the Claims Helpline Service.
