What is the difference between Platinum Seal and other similar schemes?
The biggest difference is that Platinum Seal offers the additional peace of mind by being the only 'insured' 10 year manufacturer's warranty within the park home industry, and therefore comes with all the benefits your customers expect from a properly insured, regulated and audited insurance scheme. In addition, Platinum Seal insured protection is available to more homes and more parks than any other scheme.
What is the cost to me for Platinum Seal insured protection?
If you purchase a home on an NCC or BH&HPA approved park, then there is nothing for you to pay, as your manufacturer has paid the premium for your home.However, if your home is sited on a non approved park or sited on your own land then there will be a one-off registration fee to pay then you will receive the same cover as if you were on an approved park. If I sell my home, can the cover be transferred to the new owner?
Absolutely! Selling a home with Insured Warranty protection is likely to help you achieve the very best sale price for your home. Furthermore, it will assist purchasers of your home to raise finance to assist them to purchase your home, as some lenders have this as a requirement when financing a park home.
Does Platinum Seal only offer protection to homes built to BS3632 standards?
No. Protection is also available for homes built to EN1647, although additional terms and conditions may apply.
Does Platinum Seal offer protection for log cabins?
Yes, as long as the cabin is built to either BS3632 or EN1647, although additional terms and conditions may apply.
Does Platinum Seal offer protection for homes that will be used for commercial use, such as Leisure Fleet Hire?
Not at this stage, although this is something the insurer may consider if demand requires.
My manufacturer doesn't offer Platinum Seal Insured Protection, can i purchase this cover seperately for that added peace of mind?
Dependent on the manufacturer of your home, and will be subject to additional terms and conditions.
